Diapering a wiggly baby
Do you feel as though you qualify for a gold medal in wrestling whenever it's time to change a diaper?
I remember coming out second best during diaper changing time with my 9 month old. As I saw that cute bare (undiapered bottom) crawl away in victory I marveled at the strength in such a little body. Believe it or not , there are ways to be creative in your diaper changing techniques. Try some of the following ideas to make changing a wiggly baby easier.
Good luck!
- Reserve a special song that you only sing during diaper changes. When your baby hears this special song she is likely to calm down.
- Hang an interesting toy over the diaper changing table - remember to change the toy every few weeks or so to keep your baby interested.
- Have a special basket of interesting toys or little board books just for changing times
- Don’t take both hands off your baby - babies can fall off changing tables.
- If your baby is particularly active during changing times use the floor, this is by far the safest place to change a diaper.
Good luck!
