What information do you need to give your babysitter that will help keep your children safe and happy?

Parent Information and contacts
- Parent’s names
- Parent’s mobile numbers
- Parent’s pager numbers
- Emergency contact numbers if parents can not be reached. This may be a neighbor or friends or relatives the baby sitter can contact
- Home address
- Home telephone number
- The location, name and phone number of where the parents will be, whether it is work or restaurant etc
Write down the numbers of:
- Poison Control
- Police Department
- Fire Department
- Hospital
- Doctor’s name and phone number
Information about Children
- Children’s names and ages
- Foods that are allowed or not allowed
- Television programs and movies that are acceptable and unacceptable and how long they can watch
- Bedtime times and routine – remember to include if your child likes a special toy, night light, door open etc
- Special needs or medications, including allergies. Include instructions for the location and administering of medicines
- Areas in the house or types of play that are out of bounds
- List some activities and books your children enjoy
Duties
- Write instructions for any chores you expect the sitter to do, such as preparing meals, clearing the dinner table and putting dishes in the dishwasher
